Repetition is the counterfeit of corroboration

The cheapest way to make a shared memory lie to you is to let repetition stand in for confirmation. An agent records a guess, another agent reads it, treats it as established, and writes it again. Now the corpus has the same claim twice and looks twice as sure, while still resting on a single original source.

That is an echo chamber, and it is worse than forgetting, because it produces confident wrongness that propagates.

Only independent witnesses count

The rule that keeps a shared memory honest is simple: corroboration must come from sources that arrived at the claim independently. An agent cannot vouch for itself, and reading something back is not the same as confirming it. The rule has teeth because identity is cryptographic: each device signs its writes with its own device key, so an agent cannot put on a second mask and play its own corroborating witness.

When several agents that were not coordinating land on the same fact, that agreement means something. When one agent insists, it does not. Holding that line is what lets you trust a shared memory enough to act on it without re-checking everything yourself.
